Re:Paddy/Patty: Think of it somewhat like Francis/Frances or fiancé/fiancée. Different words to indicate gender. #paddynotpatty
When spell check won't help: Found this one in a recipe - "Start by lining a bowel with tin foil." Errm. No. Think I'll make something else.
Regardless of the spelling of the long form, Patty is never the diminutive for a man's name. Paddy = men, Patty = women. #paddynotpatty
